Canvas Session Follow Up

Yesterday afternoon, about 25 people attended the live Elluminate session where Suzanne Chandler gave us a walk through of the Canvas LMS course spaces she uses to teach.  She showed us how she goes about adding assignments, grade book items, etc.

Unfortunately about halfway through the hour long session, Suzanne temporarily lost her Internet connection and disappeared from the session for about the next 20 minutes.  Fortunately another attendee, Bethany, who is also just getting started using Canvas, volunteered to application share her Canvas course space and talk about her experiences so far.  Thankfully Suzanne was able to log back in and finish what she had prepared to present.

I found the session yesterday particularly enjoyable because it reminded me of when we first started doing these joint sharing sessions in Elluminate as many in our system were first learning about ANGEL.  As was true a few years ago, yesterday no person was the expert and we were all learning together.  Consequently the risk was a lot lower and people seemed to feel more open to asking and answering questions and sharing what they have learned.  Special kudos to Suzanne and Bethany and thank you to everyone who attended.
